Carefully selected furniture pieces were brought in from Italy Germany France and other parts of Europe to ensure that every little detail fits in with the overall narrative.
Nestled inside the exotic Maderas del Carmen the scenic landscape that surrounds the unique structure is home to rare and endangered species. Preserving this delicate natural environment while creating a cozy interior the creative was crafted using materials such as river rocks pine wood rammed earth and concrete!
It was Doherty Design Studio that brought the pops of color bespoke décor and exclusive details that elevated the style quotient of the interior. The result is a contemporary home where there is never a dull moment both indoors and outside.
Building a modern home inside a protected eco-zone is a task that requires both sensitivity towards the natural bio-network that already exists and ingenious architectural solutions that will create a structure that will seem like a natural extension of the landscape. These were a few among many other challenges that Greenfield faced while designing the exclusive and eco-friendly home in that is dubbed.
It is this new rear addition that gives the home its name the as the reorganized living space kitchen and dining room are arranged upon a diagonal line laid across the original extension.
It is not just all pomp and splendor at The Edge though as a roof that is harvested to in-ground water tanks integrated with all hydraulic systems energy-efficient LED lighting a concrete shell that keeps the home cool and shelters it from tropical storms and a minimal footprint make it an eco-friendly marvel as well. The cascading waterfall in the room also adds to the temperature control feature with the evaporating water keeping the heat away on blistering summer afternoons.
As is the norm these days it is once again large sliding glass doors and a double-height wall of windows above that open up the otherwise ‘closed home’ towards the small private garden outside.
